In January 2023, The Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea(MOIS) announced that Korea's yearly export of digital government systems exceeded USD 500 million for the year of 2021.  

Since 2017, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Korea's growth in digital government export has increased every year.
Accoding to the announcement, Korea recorded USD 507.62 million in digital government export in 2021, which is more than twice of USD 237.05 million in 2017. 

As many countries pursue digital government projects powered by AI, cloud, blockchain, and other emerging technologies, Korea is attracting the world’s attention with its expertise and experience as one of the most early adoptiing nation. 

MOIS expects similar or larger figure for 2022 even though the 2021 export has yet to be estimated because the 2022 data will be collected after the annual earnings announcements of companies in Korea.
